Hope this make sense…there are tutorials in Z2 that show how to do this…i think under…selective mesh.
You can also mask the part you want hidden, go to mask and invert, click on hide visible, then go to tools:geometry:delete hidden. now ctrl-shift drag off the model to show everything but the eyelids. The names of the faces appear under Faces to delete. In the graphics area, click the faces you want to delete. Then ctrl-shift click on the eyelid group. Click Delete Face on the Surfaces toolbar, or Insert > Face > Delete.
Then i ctrl-shift click outside my model to bring it all together again to make sure I do not have parts included in that group that I want to save…rotate the model to be sure. When i get close to what I want…as in i think I have isolated just the eyelids i go to tools :polygroups and click group visible.
